A vineyard that is above les Murgers and below les Damodes. Aromas of spicy fruit more Vosne than Nuits, rich and powerful, black fruit and class, suave with deep shadows. Gorgeous damson volume. L&S (Oct 2010)

Bright ruby-red. The reticent nose shows a medicinal reserve to the flavors of black fruits, violet, licorice and eucalyptus. Dense, solid and concentrated, if not quite as vibrant as the Combe d'Orveaux or Beaux-Monts. A very ripe wine in a rather masculine style. Finishes long, with chunkier tannins. Rating: 89 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Oct 2010)

The Perrot-Minot 2008 Nuits-St.-Georges La Richemone Vieilles Vignes delivers scents and flavors of tart but ripe blackberry, Maine blueberry, machine oil, and licorice. Firmly tannic but also glycerin-rich and brightly juicy, and with low-toned suggestions of beef marrow and dark chocolate, this formidable Pinot doesn’t become too austere even when its finish turns toward crushed stone, cherry pit, and pencil lead. In fact, it’s positively vibratory in its reverberative fruit-mineral-herb interplay that will leave your mouth wrung-out. I would plan to chart this wine’s coarse fearlessly for 15 or more years, but don’t look to it for elegance or charm. (June 2010) Rating: 93 David Schildknecht, The Wine Advocate (Sept 2010)

A brooding, ripe, earthy and very serious nose of backward and extremely primary dark berry fruit that carries a hint of animale over to the round yet detailed middle weight plus flavors that are very Nuits in character as the precise finish is impressively long and the moderately firm tannins are mildly rustic. But it's the depth that makes this a very special wine and this should age beautifully. Rating: 90-93 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jul 2010)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
