Broad punch of a nose; ripe black fruit. Mouthfilling richness on palate, it gains movement with superb blackberry juiciness which makes it painful not to swallow. Impressively succulent for so massive a wine. L&S (Dec 2011)

The 2010 Pommard Les Rugiens emerges from the glass with unreal length and silkiness from start to finish. The aromas and flavors are distinctly nuanced and well-articulated. Mineral notes add freshness to this silky, chiseled Pommard. This is the first vintage where Boillot's Rugiens is equal parts Rugiens-Hauts and Bas. The parcel in Rugiens-Bas is a new acquisition. Previous vintages were made just from Rugiens-Hauts. These parcels were among the last Boillot picked in 2010. Rating: 92-94 Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com (Nov 2013)
Good bright, deep red. Subdued but pure aromas of redcurrant, spices and leather. Round, spicy and saline, with excellent thickness and no rough edges to the flavors of red fruits and leather. Perfectly integrated acidity and noble tannins shape the wine and extend the finish. Pommard with an exhilarating light touch--and not at all clenched. Made from a combination of Haut and Bas parcels; previously Boillot's Rugiens came entirely from Rugien-Haut. Rating: 92 - 95 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Jan 2012)
