2011 Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Grapes Pinot Noir

District Côte d'Or
Sub-district Côte de Nuits
Village Gevrey Chambertin
ABV 13%

The 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin is a beautiful wine to drink now and over the next decade or so. Sweet, floral and beautifully layered in the glass, the 2011 impresses for its balance and pure silkiness. Blue and purplish fruits, a hint of cloves and mint linger on the finish. There is a lot to like here. The Gevrey is a blend of fruit from Seuvrees and La Justice. 2014-2019 Rating: 91 Antonio Galloni, (Apr 2014)

Bright red-ruby. Musky aromas of black cherry and game. Juicy and on the lean side, with a slightly green quality in the mouth. I found this less ripe than a sexy Bourgogne rouge (from Morey-Saint-Denis village parcels) that preceded it in my tasting. Slightly tart on the back end, with modest stuffing to support the tannins. Rating: 85-88 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Feb 2013)

Bright crimson. Clean, fresh but not insistent. Refined and very fruity and pure. Clean palate scrub on the end. 2016-2022 Rating: 16 Jancis Robinson MW OBE - (Jan 2013)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” Visit Website
