For more than a century, the Armand family has worked they vineyard of Sainte-Croix du Mont, and the land has become more than just work for them. In the 1930's, Pierre Armand saw an opportunity and purchased Château La Caussade, a property with a long-standing and distinguished reputation. It was in 1969, when Claude Armand took over with his son and present owner, Yves, that the quality and reputation of the property was finally and fully restored to its former glory.
This is a great price for a well-balanced, well-made sweet wine from just outside Sauternes with a delightful suggestion of the famous noble rot. Not that intense but certainly very acceptable in a baked-apple sort of way. Jancis Robinson MW OBE - www.JancisRobinson.com (Dec 2016)
Certainly isn’t expensive for an attractive sweet wine! Not that intense but certainly acceptable in a baked apple sort of way. GV Drinking range: 2015 - 2017 Rating: 16 Jancis Robinson MW OBE - www.JancisRobinson.com (Sep 2016)
