Good fresh fruit, middle sweetness and fine balance. Drink: 2016-2021. Rating: 16.25 Steven Spurrier(Apr 2014)

Oliver Bernard's Lespault-Martillac demonstrates admirable concentration on the nose with blackberry and tealeaf scents, a hint of green bell pepper in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. This feels quite soft in the mouth thanks to the 65% Merlot with a Pomerol-like finish that is appealing, although it does not convince you of anything seriously long-term. Rating: 87-89 Neal Martin, 2014)
