Glossy and perfumed with cherry fruit, some peppery spice and a touch of vanilla too. Chewy and substantial in both tannin and body. Due to the tiny crop in 2013, only 500 cases were made of this Pomerol estate, which has done so well since the late nineties. Soft mocha and black cherry fruit are found in this elegant, but not terribly deep or intense 2013. It is charming, seductive and medium-bodied with well-integrated tannin, decent acidity and no hard edges. (80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc): Dark ruby. Blueberry, menthol and violet on the perfumed nose. On the palate, floral dark berry flavors are complicated by vanilla and ink.
