2014 Champs Perdrix Domaine Huguenot
|Sub-district||Côte de Nuits|
As so often a paler colour here. Possibly rather on the back foot - nose is discreet, but although there is a lovely harmony in the mouth this is not fully expressive yet. Drinking range: 2018 - L&S (Nov 2015)
*Case Price: Mix any 12 bottles of wine or 6 bottles of Champagne, Spirits or Fortified to get the 'case price' for each bottle.
Vivacious and light and lively. Racy. Just a tad medicinal but with lots of charm. Well balanced. Drinking range: 2016 - 2020 Rating: 16 Jancis Robinson MW OBE - www.JancisRobinson.com (Jan 2016)
A touch of wood set off firmly reduced aromas that precede vibrant, detailed and appealingly textured medium weight flavors where the mineral character is even more pronounced on the intense, well-detailed and lingering finish. While the acidity is noticeable on the backend, it stops short of drying it out. Drinking range: - 2020 Rating: 87-89 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2016)
The Huguenots can trace their history in Marsannay and working in the vines back to 1789. Currently the domaine is run by Philippe. His father Jean-Louis expanded the domaine from five to twenty-two hectares (twelve in Marsannay, six in Fixin, and four in Gevrey) before handing over the reins. Philippe has taken the bold step of taking all twenty-two hectares into organic production (the conversion was completed in 2010).
