SANCERRE

2017 Domaine Bailly-Reverdy

Grapes Sauv Blanc
Colour White
Origin France, Loire
Sub-district Sancerre
ABV 13%

From Bué, where the soils tend to be more limestone than 'silex', and it makes for wines with a mineral drive. Quite a bold herb and cut grass aroma with a note of classic gooseberry. Good weight, not heavy but with nice concentration, touch mineral, chalk and then those herbs and gooseberry flavours once more, ripe citrus on the sleek, crisp long finish. L&S (Nov 2018)
