More aromatic complexity here on the nose. Some dark raspberry and then some more floral, dried petals and darker berry fruit. Palate is intense. Deeply flavoured juice, nicely concentrated. Again that lovely sleek flow, the glycerol coated glide across the palate that is so inviting. Drinking range: 2020 - 2026 L&S (Oct 2018)

Light to medium purple, quite a savoury nose, more oak than expected on the palate but with sufficient fruit volume to carry it. Tighter tannins, adequate acidity. Well put together. A little tarry and lactic oak on the nose. Tasted: September 2021 Rating: 90 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy  (Sep 2021)

A more deeply pitched nose reveals notes of dark cherry, plum and raspberry along with pretty spice and violet wisps. The supple and quite round medium-bodied flavors possess a bit more volume if less finesse on the impressively persistent and slightly firmer finish where a trace of wood appears. Drinking range: 2025 - Rating: 91 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Apr 2019)

The 2017 Volnay 1er Cru Frémiets displays appealing aromas of smoked meats, plums, wild berries, dark chocolate and rich soil. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, broad-shouldered and velvety, with fine-boned structuring tannins cloaked in sapid and succulent fruit. Rating: 91-93 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Feb 2019)

Domaine Henri Boillot

A domaine which dates to 1885, but which began properly in the early years of the 20th century under the current Henri's grandfather (also Henri). His son, Jean, was the one who really developed it. Henri arrived in 1975 and worked his way up, becoming the winemaker. In 2000 he began the building of the new winery at the bottom of Meursault, and he then bought out his brother and sister to keep the domaine as one, renaming it from 'Domaine Jean Boillot' to 'Domaine Henri Boillot' to avoid confusion with his brother Jean-Marc's domaine.

The Domaine totals around 14 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white, and of which just under 4ha is the Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouchère, a walled enclave within the premier Cru Puligny Perrières. The 2017 vintage saw the arrival of two new parcels of Grand Cru red, in Échezeaux and Latricières Chambertin
