2018 Vintage Brut Les Grands Crus d'Exception

This exceptional cuvée, all bottled in magnum, was harvested on the 31st of August 2018 by the members of the association, and is 35% Chardonnay from Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Le Mesnil sur Oger, Oger and Oiry, and 65% Pinot Noir from Ambonnay, Aÿ, Beaumont sur Vesle, Bouzy, Louvois, Mailly Champagne, Puisieulx, Sillery, Tours sur Marne, Verzenay and Verzy. 235 kg of grapes from each plot were pressed together in one 400kg traditional vertical pressing. The juice was transferred to one 10hl foudre, one 6hl demi muid and five 225l barrels for fermentation and full malolactic. It was bottled on April 9th 2019, and will be disgorged and available for shipment from April 2024. Packaged in individual wood cases in a 3-magnum outer. L&S (May 2023)

Les Grands Crus d'Exception is a grouping of 15 growers of Grand Cru Champagne who have 17 Grands Crus between them. Of L&S growers, Barnaut in Bouzy and Franck Bonville in Avize are members.
