Richer fruit hit another step up in power. Glossy, polished and nicely dark. This is very voluptuous indeed. Plush and suave fruit. Nicely ripe and velvety smooth. Just so luscious and indulgent feeling. Smart polished and richly satisfying. The spicy sleek fruit delivery is almost too much to bear it is so satisfying and offers such temptation. L&S (Nov 2019)

(from La Justice and Les Seuvrées). Light reduction is enough to blur the nuance of the ripe dark berry fruit and sauvage scents. There is both excellent freshness and verve to the solidly powerful, indeed even robust, medium weight flavors that retain good focus on the detailed and lingering finish. This too needs to develop more depth but like the old vines Chambolle, the underlying material appears to be present for that to occur. Drinking range: 2026 - Rating: 89-91 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2020)

Cask sample. Lots of juice and charm – and sweetness but not too much. Good freshness – in fact this is quite a bit fresher than many village Gevreys, regardless of vintage. Nicely judged. Well done. Drinking range: 2024 - 2036 Rating: 16.5 Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Jan 2020)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
