As usual a very up-market wine which includes some plots at village level. Lovely aromatic Pinot nose and such a fill and fresh palate with a slight creaminess of texture and a subtle saline finish. Drinking range: 2022 - 2027 L&S (Oct 2020)

(from vineyards in Santenay, Marsannay and the lower portions of Volnay). A fresh, ripe, earthy and nicely layered nose reveals mostly notes of various dark berries. There is outstanding volume for a wine at this level with fine richness and mid-palate density, all wrapped in a suave, round and saline-inflected finale. This is a very good Bourgogne where the only nit is a touch of backend warmth. Note that this would make a fine choice for a house red. Drinking range: 2023 - Rating: 88 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Apr 2021)

A blend of fruit from Pommard, Auxey-Duresses and Monthélie, Boillot's 2019 Bourgogne Pinot Noir exhibits aromas of raspberries, sweet spices and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied, lively and melting, with refined tannins and tangy acids, this has turned out very nicely. Drinking range: 2021 - 2032 Rating: 88 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Jan 2021)

A blend from below Pommard along with village level grapes from Santenay and Monthelie. No new wood is used – instead the recycled barrels from the vinification integrale system used for the top cuvées (those, which are actually fermented in barrel – as it takes two barrels to arrive at enough wine to fill one afterwards). Dense purple, quite exciting stuff. There is real bounce and vigour through the middle, with a generous, but properly fresh fruit. Tasted: October 2020 ***** Rating: 88-90 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy  (Oct 2020)

Domaine Henri Boillot

A domaine which dates to 1885, but which began properly in the early years of the 20th century under the current Henri's grandfather (also Henri). His son, Jean, was the one who really developed it. Henri arrived in 1975 and worked his way up, becoming the winemaker. In 2000 he began the building of the new winery at the bottom of Meursault, and he then bought out his brother and sister to keep the domaine as one, renaming it from 'Domaine Jean Boillot' to 'Domaine Henri Boillot' to avoid confusion with his brother Jean-Marc's domaine.

The Domaine totals around 14 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white, and of which just under 4ha is the Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouchère, a walled enclave within the premier Cru Puligny Perrières. The 2017 vintage saw the arrival of two new parcels of Grand Cru red, in Échezeaux and Latricières Chambertin
