from 5 parcels dotted all round the village, including a parcel of Mal Carrées planted between 1954 and 1962. As in previous vintages this is sleek and sappy with a silky fresh palate which is clearly expressive of Chambolle - little berry fruit and a longiligne intensity. Elegant, frank, delicious and with mouth watering length. 'I love the floral side to this so I do everything to preserve it' says Thibault. Drinking range: 2024 - 2032 L&S (Oct 2020)

(from Les Beaux Bruns, Les Gamaires, Les Fremières, Les Fouchères and Les Mal Carrées; 40% whole cluster). An overtly floral-suffused nose is comprised mostly by attractively spicy red and dark berries aromas. Here too there is excellent volume to the rich but appealingly delineated medium-bodied flavors that also exude a subtle minerality on the mildly austere, firm and sneaky long finish. A quality Chambolle villages. Drinking range: 2027 - Rating: 88-91 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2021)

Includes 1er cru Chatelots along with various village vineyards. Rich purple colour, with a startling bouquet from 40% whole bunch, really causing a peacock’s tail of flavours to erupt. There are signs of the sucrosity of the vintage, with more raspberry than strawberry fruit, before the wine tightens up usefully at the back. Long perfumed finish with a ripe cherry scent. Tasted: November 2020 **** Rating: 90 - 93 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy  (Jan 2021)

Cask sample. Blueish crimson with a pale rim. Heady, velvety, supple nose. Lots of sweet juice but it's rather distinct from some chewy dry oak. Maybe just needs time but for the moment it seems slightly clumsy when tasted just after Mesdames Mugneret's offerings. Sweet finish. Drinking range: 2026 - 2034 Rating: 16 Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Jan 2021)

Thibault Liger-Belair Successeurs

The lack of the word 'domaine' in the name signals that this is a négociant wine from Thibault Liger-Belair. On the whole Thibault buys grapes having tended the vines with his own team, so that the wines are domaine wines in all but name.
