Deep yellow gold. Not giving much away on the nose, but the palate is a delight, lifted, fresh, full and yet just floats. Lots of concentration. Drinking range: 2023 - 2030 L&S (Nov 2020)

There is a trace of matchstick character to the green fruit and compote-like white orchard fruit aromas. The sleek, delicious and vibrant medium-bodied flavors possess a caressing, but overtly powerful mouthfeel while delivering excellent length on the very rich and sappy finale. This needs more depth but as examples of Poruzots generally go, it is really quite sophisticated. Drinking range: 2027 - Rating: 92 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jun 2021)

The 2019 Meursault 1er Cru Les Poruzots is fleshy and generous, wafting from the glass with aromas of honeyed orchard fruit, orange oil, buttered toast and praline. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with lively acids and an enveloping core of fruit, it's a gourmand but nicely balanced white Burgundy. Drinking range: 2022 - 2042 Rating: 92 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Jan 2021)

This is one of the few remaining negociant cuvées, outside some of the grands crus. Full yellow with the lightest of green inflections, a very concentrated nose, but not too ripe. Succulent, deep, quite oaky, a bit of candied lemon peel, some spices too. Leaves an attractive tingle at the finish. Tasted: October 2020 **** Rating: 91-93 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy  (Oct 2020)

Domaine Henri Boillot

A domaine which dates to 1885, but which began properly in the early years of the 20th century under the current Henri's grandfather (also Henri). His son, Jean, was the one who really developed it. Henri arrived in 1975 and worked his way up, becoming the winemaker. In 2000 he began the building of the new winery at the bottom of Meursault, and he then bought out his brother and sister to keep the domaine as one, renaming it from 'Domaine Jean Boillot' to 'Domaine Henri Boillot' to avoid confusion with his brother Jean-Marc's domaine.

The Domaine totals around 14 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white, and of which just under 4ha is the Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouchère, a walled enclave within the premier Cru Puligny Perrières. The 2017 vintage saw the arrival of two new parcels of Grand Cru red, in Échezeaux and Latricières Chambertin
