A whiff of the exotic sits atop the riper aromas of white and yellow peach, dried apricot and passion fruit. There is a lovely texture to the rich and caressing but quite punchy flavors that conclude in a youthfully austere and beautifully persistent finale where a touch of bitter lemon zest slowly emerges. Good stuff and very Folatières in character. Drinking range: 2029 - Rating: 93 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jun 2021)

Produced from purchased grapes—as opposed to must—the 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières bursts with aromas of pear, peach, white flowers, toast and honeycomb. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, it's fleshy and gourmand, with lively acids and a chalky finish. Drinking range: 2022 - 2042 Rating: 93 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Jan 2021)

Though the grapes are purchased, team Henri Boillot pick them on their chosen date. Lime green in colour, with a touch of barrel toast. This is from the upper part of Folatières, so therefore not one of the most powerful examples, but elegant and with length. Really very lively, with some sunnier notes to finish, but in balance. Tasted: October 2020 **** Rating: 92-95 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy  (Oct 2020)

Domaine Henri Boillot

A domaine which dates to 1885, but which began properly in the early years of the 20th century under the current Henri's grandfather (also Henri). His son, Jean, was the one who really developed it. Henri arrived in 1975 and worked his way up, becoming the winemaker. In 2000 he began the building of the new winery at the bottom of Meursault, and he then bought out his brother and sister to keep the domaine as one, renaming it from 'Domaine Jean Boillot' to 'Domaine Henri Boillot' to avoid confusion with his brother Jean-Marc's domaine.

The Domaine totals around 14 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white, and of which just under 4ha is the Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouchère, a walled enclave within the premier Cru Puligny Perrières. The 2017 vintage saw the arrival of two new parcels of Grand Cru red, in Échezeaux and Latricières Chambertin
