A vineyard on fine clay, on the Morey side of the village, but still 400m from the entrance to Morey. The upper part of the lieu-dit is classified 1er Cru. 50% whole bunch. Cool and fresh, supple tannins in a very composed sort of wine, all in fine balance with a certain textural similarity to Pomerol. Luxurious finesse and long and fresh. Drinking range: 2027 - 2037 L&S (Nov 2021)

The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Aux Beaux Bruns comes from finely-textured deep clay soils and it has a far more complex bouquet than the Les Fouchères with heightened mineralité and tension. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, quite peppery thanks to the 50% whole bunch with satisfying length on the finish. This should age well in bottle. The lack of the word 'domaine' in the name signals that this is a négociant wine from Thibault Liger-Belair. On the whole Thibault buys grapes having tended the vines with his own team, so that the wines are domaine wines in all but name.
