45% whole bunch, this comes from Fouchères, which is above les Borniques (a highly-regarded 1er Cru which borders Le Musigny). 20-30cm of orange-red clay over rock. North-east facing. Dark and beautifully silky, then dryer on the mid-palate tannins, the limestone bringing a liveliness to the finish and drawing it out in length. Drinking range: 2027 - 2037 L&S (Nov 2021)

A small cuvée of three barrels sold mostly into French restaurants. NE facing. 40% whole bunch. Mid to deep purple and I can see the whole bunch verve in the nose, a very elegant Chambolle. Quite pronounced acidity, at least to taste, and a few more tannins, but the fruit is classy and interesting. Tasted: November 2021 Rating: 91-93 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy (Jan 2022)
From a north-east facing exposure, the 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fouchères has a light bouquet with orange pith, rose petal and strawberry fruit, the 40% whole cluster neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, taut and fresh, the whole bunch maybe just a little vocal towards the finish. Fresher than many '20s, though not complex, this should be drunk over the next 10 to 12 years. Drinking range: 2024 - 2035 Rating: 89-91 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Dec 2021)

The lack of the word 'domaine' in the name signals that this is a négociant wine from Thibault Liger-Belair. On the whole Thibault buys grapes having tended the vines with his own team, so that the wines are domaine wines in all but name.
