Aux Leurey was planted in 1937. It's the second vineyard in Premeaux (coming from Beaune) below the road, opposite Clos de l'Arlot, (and next to JJ Confuron's 'Vignottes'). Shallow soil with 20-30cm at the top and a metre at the bottom. Big and rich and very ripe, a warm and enveloping richness. Drinking range: 2027 - 2037 L&S (Nov 2021)

Here the nose is somewhat flat and even a bit port-like. There is better vibrancy and solid volume to the dusty and almost chewy finish that also exudes a touch of warmth. This might recover though I suspect that it will always be a bit too ripe. Drinking range: 2025 - Rating: 85-87 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2022)

The 2020 Côte de Nuits Les Leury has a very ripe nose, just a little prune-like and possibly picked a little late. The palate is heady and candied, low in acidity, almost Gamay-like towards the cassis finish that is blurred with the 15.0° alcohol. I just think this cuvée was picked too late. The lack of the word 'domaine' in the name signals that this is a négociant wine from Thibault Liger-Belair. On the whole Thibault buys grapes having tended the vines with his own team, so that the wines are domaine wines in all but name.
