Another great wine from Stefan, power, precision, depth and intensity. Rich lime and mandarin fruit, with grip and a slatey mouthfeel. Layered, fragrant, deep and beautifully etched, this wine drinks well now, but will age with grace for many a year. L&S (Jan 2023)

*Case price discount: Mix any 12 bottles of wine (or 9 litre equivalent) or 6 bottles of Champagne, Spirits, Sweet Wine or Fortified (4.5 litres) to get the discounted 'case price' for each bottle.

Their oldest vines, also on limestone. Some age on the nose and almost a little too evolved (I seem horribly fussy). Oddly, the entry-level wine is my favourite of his Rieslings. Again, a little phenolic. 13.5% Drinking range: 2022 - 2025 Rating: 15.5 Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Oct 2023)

Weingut Braunewell

François Breiniville fled 17th Century France's Huguenot persecution to settle in Essenheim, just south west of Mainz.
It took until the 1960's for Adam Braunewell to start bottling the wines from his family's vineyards and, today, he helps his children and grandchildren run this excellent estate and tend their flagship vineyards of Blume and Teufelspfad (the Devil's path!)
