A vineyard across the road from Nuits Saint Georges Clos de la Maréchale, planted in 1937. It's always riper here and this is showing really nicely with a fresh silk feel and purity of purple fruit. Nice length. Drinking range: 2025 - 2033 L&S (Oct 2022)

The 2021 Côte de Nuits Les Leury has a light floral bouquet with rose petal and red cherry fruit, more strawberry emerging with time. There is a bit of warmth unusual in this vintage (13.8% alcohol). The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, certainly a richer style of 2021 with a plush candied finish. Drinking range: 2024 - 2030 Rating: 86-88 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Jan 2023)

The lack of the word 'domaine' in the name signals that this is a négociant wine from Thibault Liger-Belair. On the whole Thibault buys grapes having tended the vines with his own team, so that the wines are domaine wines in all but name.
