This monopole measures just 0.62 ha it is actually part of the 1er Cru Les Cras vineyard. Right over on the Volnay side and high up, with densely limestone soil, it always displays a more Puligny-like character. Initially this is much more restrained than the other Meursaults here, but so sophisticated. Pithy grapefruit, some nuttiness and smokiness here, and very mineral. Excellent length and structure this positively hums with energy. Deeply intense, perky and juicy - if tightly wound for now. This is seriously impressive and built to last. Something special here for sure.. Henri likes to find a connection with a place - and here he does - ' a similar emotion to when I taste the Clos de La Mouchere'.. L&S (Nov 2023)

Mid lemon yellow with a lime streak. The bouquet is sultry. Straight on the rocks – “when you plough, it really makes a noise”. The wine on the palate is much more clean cut yet with significant opulence as well. All in white fruit, quite oaky for the moment but all in harmony. The saline finish keeps the freshness. Drink from 2029-2036. Tasted: December 2023. Drinking range: 2029 - 2036 Rating: **** Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy (Jan 2024)
Domaine Henri Boillot
A domaine which dates to 1885, but which began properly in the early years of the 20th century under the current Henri's grandfather (also Henri). His son, Jean, was the one who really developed it. Henri arrived in 1975 and worked his way up, becoming the winemaker. In 2000 he began the building of the new winery at the bottom of Meursault, and he then bought out his brother and sister to keep the domaine as one, renaming it from 'Domaine Jean Boillot' to 'Domaine Henri Boillot' to avoid confusion with his brother Jean-Marc's domaine.
The Domaine totals around 14 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white, and of which just under 4ha is the Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouchère, a walled enclave within the premier Cru Puligny Perrières. The 2017 vintage saw the arrival of two new parcels of Grand Cru red, in Échezeaux and Latricières Chambertin
