30% whole bunch this year, which seems to have imparted a a really floral white flower/rose petal nose. The extra density from these stems really shows and it is somehow 100% new oak, without showing a hint of it. Impressive, worthy (and in need of) age. L&S (Jan 2026)

The 2024 Charmes-Chambertin Aux Charmes Grand Cru includes 30% whole cluster with the main trunk of the stem removed. This has a very aromatic nose with rose petals and iris flower infusing the red fruit, quite showy and ebullient. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red berry fruit, the pepperiness from the stems nicely judged and they will be assimilated with time in bottle. Good length, this is on par with the 2023. Thibault Liger-Belair Successeurs
The lack of the word 'domaine' in the name signals that this is a négociant wine from Thibault Liger-Belair. On the whole Thibault buys grapes having tended the vines with his own team, so that the wines are domaine wines in all but name.

Spicy, mildly medicinal, herbal (dried herbs de Provence), menthol. Very tight and linear. Not very Charmes! Again a rich tannic mass, all wrapped up with full fruit - great concentration. A long way to go.
