The fruit here, surprisingly, strays a little bit into the tropical, with plenty of flesh and density. Corton seems to have generally had a superb 2024 and it shows here - everything you would expect is here, but with some exotic orange blossom and a vert fine, chalky finish. L&S (Nov 2025)

The 2024 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has an expressive bouquet with yellow fruit, white linen, pear and hints of peach skin. Lovely definition and harmony. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity and attractive texture, with a touch of orange sorbet and citronella on the finish. Maybe not long-term but thoroughly enjoyable. No new wood has been used for the small production of Corton-Charlemagne. Mid lemon yellow, there is plenty underlying the sunshine feel of the white fruit. Only at the back of the palate do the stones show. This is backward, needs more elevage, but there is a lot of wine tucked away here. Thibault Liger-Belair Successeurs
The lack of the word 'domaine' in the name signals that this is a négociant wine from Thibault Liger-Belair. On the whole Thibault buys grapes having tended the vines with his own team, so that the wines are domaine wines in all but name.
