The purity in this Suduiraut is exceptional and made from 100% semillon with dried pineapples, apricots, hazelnuts and spices. Medium-bodied, with plenty of sweetness yet fresh and phenolic texture that frames the wine. pH 3.65, 158 g/L residual sugar. Fantastic. Rating: 97-98 James Suckling, www.jamessuckling.com (May 2026)

The 2025 Suduiraut is pure Sémillon, picked mostly after October 10 (there was a first picking of more passerillé fruit that constituted around 10% of the blend). It is mainly from the second trie, with a last picking at the end of October. There were a total of 10 days of picking. This has a fragrant bouquet with wild honey, linseed, saffron and light orange pith scents that blossom in the glass, though I would not describe it as intense, but very pure. The palate is well balanced, with a viscous opening, very pure botrytised fruit and a killer line of acidity. There is no heaviness here, and despite the 158 g/L residual sugar, it feels light on its toes. Oh yes. Drinking range: 2030 - 2065 Rating: 96-98 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (May 2026)
The 2025 Suduiraut is 100% Sémillon picked six weeks later than the dry whites in the three tries, with most of the final blend coming from the last two picks. Tangerine oil, mint, white pepper and passion fruit are some of the notes that grace the palate. The 2025 is aromatic and light on its feet, but it also shows the natural depth and concentration of a vintage with yields of 13 hectoliters per hectare. Residual sugar is 158 grams per liter. Drinking range: 2033 - 2065 Rating: 94-96 Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com (Apr 2026)
Château Suduiraut
Sauternes Premier Cru 1855 The de Suduiraut family lived on their estate in Preignac at least as far back as 1580. In the later years of the 17th Century, a dispute with the local Governor led to the château being flattened. In response, Comte Blaise de Suduiraut rebuilt in lavish manner, with gardens laid out by King Louis XIV's designer. Since the de Suduiraut's time there have been many owners, but today it is in the very capable hands of AXA Millésimes. The 92ha of vineyard are planted with 90% Semillon and 10% Sauvignon Blanc. There is a second wine, which takes its name from a neighbouring estate that was absorbed into Suduiraut in 1831, and is called Castelnau de Suduiraut.
