Widely celebrated as an artisanal revelation, a dry, refreshing red that shatters every lingering 1970s misconception. Pouring a dark, almost brooding red, it hits the glass with a frothy, energetic fizz that demands to be enjoyed with abandon. The nose is instantly alive with dark cherries, crushed red berries. On the palate, it is bone dry yet incredibly smooth, trading cloying sweetness for a brilliant, structured vibrancy. L&S (May 2026)

Fattoria Moretto
Domenico Altariva grew up with farming in his blood, his father Antonio had become a wine trader, selling Grasporossa grapes and Lambrusco in glass demi-johns in the 1960s. So when Domenico and his wife Albertina bought their first home in 1971, he naturally planted vineyards alongside it as part of a small-holding with other mixed crops. He was a salesman day to day and a small-holder in his own time.. However, the farming and the wine in particular, soon took over! What began as a passion project soon evolved into a family vocation, with Domenico and Albertina producing wine for themselves and then selling to friends - from the very start they farmed as naturally as possible, bucking the trend of the times for herbicides and pesticides. Immediately they had a market for their brilliant wines. In 1991, their sons Fabio and Fausto joined them and the estate as we now know it began to take shape. The arrival of the next generation ushering in a new era with the construction of a modern winery, more vineyards acquired, and wines bottled under their own label. Just a few years later, in 1997, their dedication to working in harmony with nature was made official with organic certification. Today, Fattoria Moretto thrives in the hills of Castelvetro near Modena, where clay, limestone, and silt soils shape wines of freshness and minerality. With Fabio's son Alessio now fuilly involved the family is now into its fourth genration proudly championing Lambrusco Grasparossa, crafting a bone-dry, terroir-driven wine that’s as serious as it is expressive—a truly authentic taste of Emilia-Romagna.
