Rosé Brut Champagne Laurent Perrier
|Grapes||Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay|
|Origin||France, Non Vintage Rosé|
A recent tasting of the full range from this famous house reminded us quite how good this rosé is. One time favourite of the City traders, iconic in itself, this is still a favourite among those looking for a fuller and fruitier Rosé. L&S (Dec 2017)

Made from 100% pinot noir, the world’s bestselling rosé champagne is bang on form, exhibiting a beautiful balance between red berry fruits and vibrant acidity. Top 25 Wines for Autumn, September 2017. Will Lyons, The Sunday Times (Sep 2017)
First released in 1968. Laurent-Perrier wanted to show that rosé could be a serious wine. 100% Pinot Noir – unusually not a blend of white and red wines. Wild-salmon pink. Raspberries, freshness, a hint of tarragon on the nose. Lacy mousse. Tart raspberries, peppery green herbs, a small but intense sweet-salty-dark-sharp note of balsamic vinegar. Juicy yet composed. Dry. Rating: 16.5 Tamlyn Currin - www.JancisRobinson.com (Jun 2017)
A lifted, slightly smokey nose with a palate that has energetic Pinot power and a fleshy creaminess. Not flooding with elegance but well made. Rating: 89 Decanter Magazine (Dec 2016)
2012 Rating: Silver Medal International Wine Challenge 2015
Champagne Laurent Perrier
The House of Laurent Perrier can lay claim to another famous Champagne widow. In 1881 Alphonse Pierlot gifted his Champagne House to his cellar master Eugene Laurent, who only lasted until 1887 when his widow Mathilde-Emilie Perrier took control of Veuve Laurent-Perrier & Cie. Mathilde guided the company through the early years of the 20th Century and the ravages of World War I. On her death in 1925, Eugenie Laurent inherited the company, but was unable to steer a successful path through the difficult inter-war years and in 1939, with another war looming, sold Laurent-Perrier to Marie-Louise Lanson de Nonancourt, who's family still run the company today. Success for Laurent-Perrier came in the post-War years with the House joining the ranks of the more famous names. Their multi-vintage prestige cuvée - Grand Siécle - was launched in 1959, and the iconic saignée method rosé followed in 1968.
