NSPCC City Fine Wine 2024 … & one for Chelsea fans

by Charles Lea

Last night saw the 19th time that L&S has sponsored the City Fine Wine Challenge quiz evening at One Great George Streeet. Teams of City luminaries competed for the Patrick Sandeman Trophy, and this year, in an upset of the long-standing dominance of headline sponsor FNZ, the quiz was won by the team from JP Morgan, who were clearly on fire!

A late note addition – the final net figure for this year’s CFWC was £203,797.

For those who attended and are curious to know more about the wines they tasted, all the wines are here.

Committee chair Henrietta Baldock

Committee chair Henrietta Baldock thanks the attendees for their generosity at the end of the quiz.

Special thanks this year to the remarkable John, whose quietly-delivered speech held the room in complete silence, reminding us all why we want to support the work of the NSPCC and Childline.

Huge thanks as ever to the Committee, to Bex and Eavie and their team from the NSPCC, to Quizmaster extraordinaire Matthew Jukes and to auctioneer Martin Roberts for their work in making the L&S contribution on the wine side of the evening so successful in raising another chunky sum for the NSPCC’s Childline.

Huge thanks too to all the L&S staff who give their time year after year to this great event, and ensure that it runs so smoothly.
