Tasted in a long line up of similarly priced Clarets this beauty jumped right out. There is super impact - deep rich plummy fruit. Gorgeous fine tannins add texture and a refreshing edge that makes you dig deeper. Luxurious levels of deep, red and black fruits are seasoned with dried herb notes and lovely sophisticated wood-spice flying around the palate. A smart and indulgent Bordeaux for drinking through the season. L&S (Sep 2019)

Another sleeper of the vintage as well as one of the most consistent wines from the up and coming Fronsac appellation, Moulin-Haut-Laroque’s 2008 exhibits plenty of minerality intermixed with blue and red fruit, floral, and crushed rock notes. It is a medium-bodied, densely packed effort possessing beautiful fruit purity and sweet tannin. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. Drinking range: 2012 - 2024 Rating: 89 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, 2009)
