Dark cherries, mocha, spices, new leather, licorice, smoke and tobacco are some of the aromas and flavors that open up in the 2010 Monteti. Warm, open and beautifully resonant, the 2010 offers tons of personality and sheer appeal. Best of all, the 2010 will drink well with minimal cellaring. Sweet floral and spiced notes on the finish are incredibly appealing. Monteti is 45% Petit Verdot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. Ripe blackberry, crushed plum, black raspberry, sweet baking spices, orange zest and dark chocolate are some of the aromas and flavors you'll find on this creamy, full-bodied blend of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Velvety tannins provide the smooth texture and framework. Enjoy through 2020. 'Editor's Choice' Drinking range: 2015 - 2020 Rating: 94 The Wine Enthusiast (Jan 2015)

Tenuta Monteti

Tenuta Monteti is in the southern part of the Maremma, some fifteen kilometres from the border of the region of Scansano, under the hill of Monteti, an amphitheatre which protects the estate from coastal winds. The twenty-five hectares of vineyard are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Alicante and Merlot in individual lots of one hectare, each vinified separately in the new, state of the art, winery.

The wines are marked by a pronounced individuality, reflecting not only the 'terroir' of the region, but more importantly a freshness of fruit and balanced acidity which makes them so very drinkable. They are intentionally understated wines which perform on the palate in a musical fashion - a delicate introduction which builds to the most wonderful crescendo.
