An ultra-elegant nose displays admirably pure red berry fruit, floral and spice notes. There is equally good purity to the rich, intense and remarkably vibrant flavors that possess excellent volume along with an abundance of dry extract that confers a velvety texture to the linear, well-balanced and moderately austere finish. It is a very good thing that there is so much sap because this is especially firmly structured and will need every bit of 20+ years in this format (tasted from magnum) to fully resolved the prominent underlying tannins. Drinking range: 2025 - Rating: 93-93 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Nov 2014)

Red cherry fruit. It has an intense aroma. Very juicy on the attack. This is vigorous with splashing red fruit. Saturated and fresh. The tannins are firm, ripe and very neat. They sit streamlined in the palate. Nothing out of place here. There is a harmony with striking vivacity. You could drink this now. It is surprisingly accessible now, but wait until 2020. Such an accommodating wine..tasting so well now, but with the capacity to age. Rating: 18.85 Sarah Marsh MW, The Burgundy Briefing (Nov 2014)

The nose is sweet lovely and fragrant with red fruits tending to dominate the start of the palate. Towards the back the layers of fruit give complexity the richness nicely balanced by red fruited freshness. The finish is quite light but has elegance. 2015-22 Rating: 92 Derek Smedley MW, www.dereksmedleymw.co.uk (Dec 2013)

The Vosne Suchots has a pixelated bouquet with great precision and sense of mineralité. It is perhaps, less ebullient that one usually finds this climat. The palate is very well balanced with firm, grippy tannins and real tannic backbone. It is a quintessential 2010 with a structured, very precise finish informed by Morello cherry and cassis. Excellent. Rating: 93-95 Neal Martin, www.robertparker.com (Jul 2012)

Rating: 17.5 Matthew Jukes www.matthewjukes.com (Jan 2012)

Exciting intensity on the nose. Really quite meaty. Lovely Vosne freshness. Everything in the right place. Long with great balance. Great stuff! 2015-2024 Rating: 17 Jancis Robinson MW OBE - www.JancisRobinson.com (Jan 2012)

Complex, concentrated palate full of meaty damson plums, violets and a hint of game and juniper. Great depth of ripe fruit enlivened by brisk acidity. Taut, grippy tannins. Thoroughly delicious. 93/100 Rating: 93 Natasha Hughes MW, www.wine-pages.com (Jan 2012)

Good depth to the aroma. Ripe, zesty and intense. Very even on the palate with lots of ripe fruit, but again it is really well balanced with freshness. It is really compact and layered in the middle with good depth and substance. Generous fruit and ripeness and plenty of tannins, slightly muscular, but smoothly rounded. On the finish it shows very good persistence with some tension and power. Fine to very fine. From 2018 Rating: 18.75 - 19 Sarah Marsh MW, The Burgundy Briefing (Nov 2011)

Domaine J. Confuron Cotetidot

Vignerons since the seventeenth century, the Confuron family even have a strain of Pinot Noir named after them - Pinot Confuron. The domaine has several Grands Crus vineyards as well as the Premier Cru vineyard of Les Suchots, making it one of the very top domaines of the Côte de Nuits. Yves Confuron follows his family tradition of whole-bunch fermentation, giving an extra scent on the nose due to the stems of the grapes remaining intact, and picking very late. One of the strengths of Confuron Cotetidot wines is their ability to age and develop, due to the low yields and old vines that are used, causing them to be more approachable in the medium to long term.
