Some lovely grip and texture here, with classic cassis, tobacco leaf, tea and coffee notes. As you would expect some nice structure from the ripe tannins, decent dark fruit core and then nice length of flavour. L&S (Oct 2016)

Château Belle Garde
The Duffau family have been making Bordeaux at Chateau Belle Garde since 1850. The 46 acres of vines are dotted around on different parcels of land with varying soil types (clay-limestone, clay and gravel and sandy gravel). The majority of the land is situated on the south facing hillside in front of Saint-Emilion. The vines planted for claret are 80% merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
