(Tasted from tank, this will be bottled in the Spring.) From the 'best' bit of the Beauroy vineyard, the 2015 Troësmes is a lovely example of what can be achieved in this vintage here. These wines get more linear as you taste up through the range- and yet there is still a lovely silky, sweet weight of great fruit - good stuff. This is by no means lean but just shapely enough to be joyous to drink. Crowd-pleasing stuff from this super, organic domaine. L&S (Nov 2016)

The 2015 Chablis Troesmes 1er Cru has a clean, fresh, tropical-tinged bouquet of pretty orange blossom and honeysuckle scents that gain intensity with aeration. The well-balanced palate features a smooth, waxy-textured opening. This is a very phenolic Chablis that suggests a lot of skin contact, yet it is well-balanced, with hints of peach skin emerging on the finish. The wine initially shows impressive tension, but it loses some vigor in the glass. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. Drinking range: 2018 - 2026 Rating: 90 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Nov 2018)

(this used to be labeled as Beauroy). A mildly exotic nose features notes of white peach, melon and iodine that are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. The dense, opulent and seductively textured medium weight flavors possess ample dry extract, all wrapped in a powerful if not especially vibrant finale. This too should drink well on the early side. Drinking range: 2019 - Rating: 89 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2018)

The 2015 Chablis 1er Cru Troesmes comes from the Pommier's 1.80 hectare of 45-year-old vines on white marne soils. Aged 70% in stainless steel and 30% in used barrels, it has a lean, flinty bouquet that needs to muster more vigor in the glass. The palate is fresh and tensile on the entry, nicely focused with a brisk, quite saline finish that lingers nicely in the mouth. This is a well-made right bank Chablis premier cru. Drinking range: 2018 - 2026 Rating: 90 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Sept 2017)

Domaine Denis Pommier

Founded when the Pommiers inherited 2 hectares of vines in 1990. Isabelle and Denis bottled their first wine in 1994 and now have 23 hectares of vineyards, which are certified organic (which sadly cost them dearly in terms of lost crop in 2016 and 2017) and run according to biodynamic principles. Further reading is available in the form of Denis' book 'Les Larmes de Ma Vigne', published in 2020.

The Petit Chablis is a model of brisk freshness - made entirely in stainless steel - while the Premier Crus in benefit from a small amount of barrel-fermentation and élevage. The two named 'lieu-dits' of Chablis 'village', Les Reinettes and Croix aux Moines, are about a hectare in total. The Troësmes is within the larger premier cru 'Beauroy'. The Pommiers think this 'best bit' deserves to be identified by its correct name. It is relatively rounder, while the Côte de Léchet is the one for fans of the slatier, crystalline side of minerality. Keep either of the premiers crus for four to six years.

Petit Chablis 9.5 ha (+ 2 planted not yet in production)
Chablis 6ha
Chablis Reinettes and Chablis Croix aux Moines 1ha - a north-facing slope which catches the sun late in the day. Reinettes is on pure Kimmeridgian clay, under Croix au Moines, which is on a thinner soil at the top of the hill, both in the same sector as Côte de Léchet.
Chablis 1er cru Troësmes 1.8ha - white marl, facing due south.
Chablis 1er cru Cote de Léchet 1.1 ha - chalky, south-east-facing.
Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume .8 ha - a very steep hot south-west facing slope.
