2015 Made in Provence Classic Rosé Domaine Sainte Lucie

Grapes Cinsault, Syrah, Grenache
Colour Rosé
Origin France, Provence
ABV 13%

2015 MiP* is now sold out, but the deliciously crisp 2016 Mip* Rosé is now available here or via related products below.

Year after year Guillaume Philippe crafts a Provence rosé from his father-in-law's vineyard which abuts the iconic 'Mont Saint Victoire'. A nearly vertical pale limestone cliff surges up behind the vineyards which are composed of a dusty red sandy soil. 60% Cinsault, 20% Grenache, 20% Syrah. The 2015 Mip Rosé is if anything paler than ever, a delicate pale pink which belies the intensity of aroma that he instils in this wine through careful vineyard management and a very technical vinification. Unlike some pinks which can be a little heavy, 'MiP*' is always bright and totally refreshing, and its many evangelical followers will tell you how drinkable this amazing wine really is. Drinking range: 2016 - 2017 Rating: 94 L&S (Jun 2016)

The 2015 MiP Made in Provence Rose is a beauty. Loaded with upfront, fruit forward notes of ripe melon, white peach and wild strawberries, it's pure, balanced and silky on the palate, with a great texture and a clean dry finish. It's a classic, delicious effort to enjoy through the summer. Drinking range: 2016 - 2016 Rating: 90 Jeb Dunnuck - www.robertparker.com (May 2016)

Bright nettly red fruit, soft and refreshing and with good flavour concentration. More substance than most pinks. Deserves to be taken seriously. Rating: 16.5 Richard Hemming MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (May 2016)

A wine that makes you feel summer is on its way even when the weather suggests otherwise. Very pale (even paler than previous vintages?) with soft red fruit and peach flavours, a hint of liquorice and crisp, refreshing acidity. At this time of year when they've just been released this, the cheapest of Sainte Lucie's three rosés, is often the most enjoyable because the other two need a little more time to come together. Rating: 88 The Wine Gang - www.thewinegang.com (Apr 2016)

Made in Provence

Formerly Domaine Sainte Lucie, this is a domaine with wonderful vineyard holding on the dry stony lower slopes of the Provençal icon mountain, the Mont Saint Victoire. Forty hectares of vines with an average age of thirty-five. These deep soils can only support vines, and are perfect for the production of low yields and fine wines. The wines are made from a mix of Grenache and Syrah, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre, Carignan and Cinsault, and the rosés get an addition of Vermentino (Rolle) which adds a bright floral expression.
