Pol Roger's 2015 Brut Vintage is generous and demonstrative, bursting with aromas of golden orchard fruit, nectarine, warm bread, buttered popcorn and orange oil. Full-bodied, broad and vinous, it's rich and fleshy, with a sweet, layered core of fruit, racy acids and a pretty pinpoint mousse. Stylistically, the 2015 has more in common with the richness and concentration of 2012 than the chiseled raciness of 2013. It's a beautiful bottle in the making. Drinking range: 2022 - 2042 Rating: 94 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Mar 2022)

Very powerful, emphatic nose that suggests the riches to come. Fine mousse. Clean as a whistle. A hint of crème pâtissière with a very crisp, long finish. Super-accessible already – though not for the zero-dosage brigade. Drinking range: 2022 - 2028 Rating: 17 Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Feb 2022)
The 2015 Brut Vintage is a very pretty Champagne to drink now and over the next decade or so. Gentle hints of apricot, spice, dried flowers and baked apple tart lend quite a bit of nuance. There’s gorgeous vinous intensity to the 2015 accompanied by a whole range of citrus, floral and chalk overtones that emerge over time, adding brightness as well as cut. All the elements are so nicely balanced. Disgorged: November 2021. Dosage is 7 grams per liter. Drinking range: 2022 - 2032 Rating: 92 Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com (Mar 2022)
Champagne Pol Roger
Champagne Pol Roger is one of the very few remaining houses still owned and run by the founding family, who remain responsible for the winemaking and selection of the cuvées each year.
Originally founded in Aÿ in 1849 by Pol Roger, the firm then moved to Épernay in 1851. The First World War had a huge impact on the firm, putting any expansion plans to rest, and Prohibition in America made exports much more difficult.
During the Second World War when the Germans occupied France, all production and buying of Champagne was controlled by the Wehrmacht.
However, the War caused Winston Churchill to become a prominent figurehead throughout the world, and his love of Pol Roger was widely known. So much so that the House created their special Cuvée Winston Churchill in 1975.
