Another Haut Médoc we have enjoyed over the years. Some lovely dark fruit concentration on both the nose and then the palate. The weight is kept in check by some coarse tannins. Bell pepper and mineral stone on the finish. Good value. Rating: 87 L&S (Apr 2018)

The 2017 Lanessan has a mixture of red and black fruit on the nose, nicely detailed with a slight mineral note that develops with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with more flesh than its peers, especially in the middle as it gains weight with blackberry, raspberry and light cedar notes. It tapers back towards the second half but overall, this is a very respectable Lanessan for the vintage. Drinking range: 2021 - 2032 Rating: 88-90 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (May 2018)
The 2017 Lanessan is deep garnet-purple in color with a nose of cassis, black cherries and tilled soil with hints of black pepper and bay leaves.
