A firm favourite at L&S - the Clos Puy Arnaud from Côtes de Castillon is dense and powerful in 2018. Some damson on the nose. The palate is concentrated and rich. Dark fruit dominates along with noticeable oak. There is a streak of freshness along with well integrated tannins that add focus and structure. This will need some time in the cellar. Drinking range: 2025 - 2035 L&S (Apr 2019)

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Clos Puy Arnaud opens with notes of baked blackberries, preserved plums and blueberry pie, giving way to hints of balsamic and mossy bark. Full, rich and spicy in the mouth, it is sporting bags of dried berry flavors and finishes spicy with a fair bit of chew. Rating: 86-88 Lisa Perrotti-Brown, RobertParker.com (Apr 2019)
This is 60% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. The alcohol is 13.6%. A rather perfumed style on the nose, with rose petals, green peppercorn and grilled red cherry. The palate shows a very primary and pretty seam of Cabernet Franc perfume, with red fruits, peonies, roses and mint here, wrapped up in a gentle texture and weight of fruit, along with a supple, rich and tightly grained bed of tannins.
