A very well placed plot here with Bruno Clair just next door. This has immediate impact. So sophisticated. Dark fruit fills the palate, rich but not overly ripe deeply coloured red and black flesh. Some graceful tannins build and add some straight lines. Keeping this from getting too full on. Dark berries and lovely energy. This is pure and long. L&S (Nov 2019)

A beautifully layered nose combines notes of red and black cherry with those of rose petal, violet, lavender and a range of spice elements. There is very good mid-palate density to the attractively, even seductively, textured flavors that flash a lovely minerality on the dusty, youthfully austere and impressively complex and lengthy finish for a villages level wine. Good stuff and well-worth considering. Drinking range: 2028 - Rating: 89-92 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2020)

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Les Champs Perdrix feels a little muted on the nose compared to its peers, despite rigorous coaxing. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a slightly powdery texture and a short, compact finish. Not bad, but one for earlier drinking than other cuvées from the domaine. Drinking range: 2021 - 2029 Rating: 88-90 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Jan 2020)

This is super ripe and opulent. Quite exotic. Rich fruit, but fine tannins. The finish is quite heady now in June and will calm down. Extravagant florality. Rating: 90+ Sarah Marsh MW, The Burgundy Briefing (Nov 2019)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
