Dark mineral fruit nose, quite cool. Taut and fresh and quite tannic. Feral and powerful. Impressive more than likeable at this stage but the power is all here. Drinking range: 2032 - 2045 L&S (Nov 2020)

The redder side of crimson. A slightly smudged bouquet seems indicative of stems (but probably not for this cuvée chez Faiveley). Softly oaky behind, the ripeness is at maximum, but as with the Musigny flight, the finish gives hope for the future, leaving a fresher feel behind. It is actually pretty lovely wine, the charm of the fruit being deceptive in that it hides the latent intensity. Drink from 2028-2038. Tasted: September 2023. Drinking range: 2028 - 2038 Rating: **** Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy (Nov 2023)
(from a 1.29 ha parcel). A mildly toasty and mentholated nose offers up a wonderful array of spice elements on the notably floral red berry fruit and earth-inflected aromas. The sleek and satin-textured big-bodied flavors possess a highly sophisticated mouthfeel that exudes evident minerality on the youthfully austere and terrifically persistent finish. A brief summation would be cool and very classy. Drinking range: 2036 - Rating: 93-96 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2021)
Aromas of cassis, plums, orange oil, smoked meats, loamy soil and black truffle preface Faiveley's 2019 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru, a full-bodied, velvety and sumptuous wine that's elegantly textural and fleshy, with its broad-shouldered chassis of tannin cloaked in an ample core of succulent fruit. Long and complete, it's a terrific Clos de Bèze in the making. Rating: 94-96 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Jan 2021)
