The 2019 de Pez has gained tremendously in weight, power and substance. A wine of breadth and pure power, Pez possesses tremendous resonance and intensity, right out of the gate. Scorched earth, incense, plum, menthol and tar hit the palate. This rich, heady Saint-Estèphe has a ton to offer. Drinking range: 2024 - 2034 Rating: 92 Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com (Feb 2022)

*Case price discount: Mix any 12 bottles of wine (or 9 litre equivalent) or 6 bottles of Champagne, Spirits, Sweet Wine or Fortified (4.5 litres) to get the discounted 'case price' for each bottle.

The 2019 Château de Pez, matured in 50% new oak, has a taut, focused bouquet of blackberry, wild mint and juniper berries, well defined and conveying an almost Saint-Émilion-like personality. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and fine weight. Quite "solid" at the moment, and it needs a little more precision and flair to come through on the finish. I will be cautious with my score for the moment. Drinking range: 2024 - 2036 Rating: 90 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Feb 2022)

Bright and fresh, featuring an upfront display of red and black currant preserve flavors, laced with black tea and backed by a nice iron twinge through the finish. Sneaky long, too. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2023 through 2035.—J.M. Rating: 93 James Molesworth, The Wine Spectator (Jan 2022)

The 2019 Château de Pez was tasted from two bottles. The first I found a bit glossy and showy, the second more refined and controlled with blackberry, raspberry and sous-bois aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with bright red berry fruit laced with white pepper and subtle earthy notes, nicely focused with the second examples showing more appellation DNA than the first. Drink over the next 15 years. Drinking range: 2023 - 2035 Rating: 90-92 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Jun 2020)
