Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Malescasse leaps from the glass with vibrant black cherries, black raspberries and redcurrant jelly scents plus wafts of garrigue, baking spices, wild sage and fragrant earth. The medium-bodied palate is lively and refreshing with bags of crunchy black fruit and a grainy texture, finishing with an herbal lift. Rating: 88-90 Lisa Perrotti-Brown, RobertParker.com (Jun 2020)

The 2019 Malescasse, a recently elected Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel, has an impressive bouquet with detailed blackberry, bilberry and cedar notes, quintessentially Left Bank with a degree of composure. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, a little lactic in texture with a smooth blackberry and cracked black pepper, lingering finish. Very fine.
