1 barrel. Cool fresh nose, on the palate it's positively feisty, lots of freshness and very dark fruit expression, red fruit top notes giving a real zing, then defined blackberry and blueberry on the long finish Drinking range: 2033 - 2050 L&S (Oct 2020)

A discreet but not imperceptible application of wood frames pretty and again relatively airy aromas of red and dark pinot fruit laced with spice, earth and floral nuances. The round, delicious and attractively vibrant middle weight flavors possess a focused, yet caressing mouthfeel while exhibiting very good depth on the lingering, balanced and firm finale. Drinking range: 2031 - Rating: 91-93 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2021)

The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru La Perrière is showing very well, unwinding in the glass with notes of wild berries, plums, orange rind, spices and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with a lively, mineral finish of notable precision, it saw 50% new wood, with part of the cuvée raised in glass. Rating: 91-93 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Jan 2021)

The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin La Perrière 1er Cru, aged in one new and one year-old barrel with 50% whole bunch, is harmonious and opulent on the nose, yet it is all very controlled and defined, offering lush black cherries and light cassis scents plus violet topnotes that come through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins, fleshy and quite rounded in style, though I am just seeking a little more mineralité to develop on the tight-fisted finish. Drinking range: 2024 - 2038 Rating: 90-92 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Dec 2020)

Domaine Dugat-Py

Domaine Dugat-Py, along with only DRC, Roumier, Rousseau and Leroy, is rated in the top Three Star category by the 'Classement' published by the Revue du Vin de France. These are the essence of robust Burgundy, wines of huge scale and concentration. Patience is required, so lay down a few grand bottles for your dotage.
