From the northern end of Chapelle Chambertin, in les Gémeaux. Cool and fresh, initially seems to be more on the fruit than spices. Structured and firm, it's restrained, but the spices come with a little aeration and warming, and the tannins round into sensational volume, just like the Charmes, even if the expression remains 'dark and mysterious'. Drinking range: 2030 - 2045 L&S (Nov 2021)

This is a 90-year-old parcel of 0.6 hectare in Les Gémeaux. The nose is dialed into sassy fruit aromas with mulberries, blueberries and strawberry coulis taking center stage. The palate continues the millefeuille with black cherry compote, exotic spice and crushed stones. The tannins are a bit waxy and sticky, and they do a nice job of centering the generous body squarely on the palate. This is just fantastic. Drinking range: 2026 - 2045 Rating: 97 Christy Canterbury MW - TimAtkin.com (Feb 2022)

(from Chapelle proper). Slightly riper aromas include those of poached plum, black cherry, raspberry, anise and a suggestion of newly turned earth. There is excellent density to the caressing yet solidly powerful medium weight plus flavors that possess even better depth on the sneaky long, compact and tightly wound finale. While this has the stuffing to reward 15 plus years of cellaring, it should be reasonably approachable after 7 to 8 years. Drinking range: 2035 - Rating: 93-95 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2022)

A beautiful glowing purple colour. This has a freshness and urgency, a purity of fruit which I like a lot. Everything perfectly in place, a fresh but intense red raspberry, the little white pepper tingle, and excellent length. A fine example. Tasted: December 2021 Rating: 94-97 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy  (Jan 2022)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
