After the Chambolle, this comes across as rich and dense, and again there's a lovely freshness which seems to be just built-in to these 2020s Drinking range: 2026 - 2036 L&S (Nov 2021)

Firm reduction presently renders the nose difficult to assess. More interesting are the racier and slightly finer middle weight flavors that possess evident minerality on the youthfully austere and sneaky long finish. This slightly firmer effort is also very good and should repay up to a decade of keeping. Drinking range: 2028 - Rating: 89-92 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2022)

45-year-old vines on clay and limestone. Cask sample. Deep ruby colour; there’s a touch of the farmyard on the nose, but there’s rich fruit with great balance between the tannin and the sweetness. Still that fine 2020 freshness. Drinking range: 2025 - 2030 Rating: 16.5 Matthew Hayes, www.jancisrobinson.com (Jan 2022)

Intense black purple colour. A light reduction on the nose. Very intense pure red and blackcurrant fruit, good acidity, a fresher style throughout, lingers well on the palate. May be as good as the Morey when the reduction clears, with a little extra concentration. This could grown into a 5th star later. Tasted: December 2021 Rating: 92-94 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy  (Jan 2022)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
