Bright citrus, fragrant with a note of fresh almond and white flowers. Good weight in the mouth, lovely texture, bold citrus, nectarine and fragrant acacia blossom. Nicely done with balance and a pleasing texture. L&S (Sept 2024)

The 2022 Etna Bianco Mofete opens with a smoky blend of crushed apricots and savory herbs. This is racy in feel, with a pretty inner sweetness up front contrasted by zesty mineral tones and hints of sour citrus. The 2022 leaves a sensation of liquid stone and notes of green melon, tapering off with medium length. Drinking range: 2024 - 2027 Rating: 89 Eric Guido, www.vinous.com (Jun 2024)
Palmento Costanzo
A property of 14 hectares in Contrada Santo Spirito, Passopisciaro, on the northern slopes of Etna. 10 hectares are planted with vines on walled terraces on volcanic rocks between 600-800 metres altitude. The Costanzos came here in 2011 - they are from Catania - and meticulously restored the palmento (the word for the olive millstone which gave the farm its name). The vineyards are planted employing the ‘gobelet' method and farmed organically. The 2017’s are certified organic. This is an amazing new project which has been given all the investment and attention it needed to make great wines from the outset.
