From a famous little corner of Fleurie, but ironically the word 'Fleurie' does not dominate their iconic yellow labels, this is because the domaine was created before the Fleurie Appellation existed and the label still retains the original, classic design! In fact up until 1926 the vineyard owners felt they were in Moulin a Vent and were a little disappointed to be put in to the 'new-fangled' Fleurie appellation, The soils here are an unusual mix of manganese and clay, this gives wines with more structure and power than most Fleuries. This wine is named after a favourite racehorse 'La Roilette' owned by a previous owner of the farm in the early 1900s. This is why the unchanged label from the 1920s carries the silhouette of a horse's head. The Couderts own the largest part of this old estate, and pick from old vines at maximum maturity to make fully coloured wines with great juicy richness. They are without doubt one of the finest domaines in the Beaujolais.
Beaujolais Summer | Mixed 12
The Summer Beaujolais Mixed 12 Case: The Ultimate Cru Tasting Tour
Gamay is a grape of remarkable transparency, acting as a perfect translator of the earth beneath it when planted on the right slopes by passionate, independent growers. This traditionally made, 12-bottle mixed case features two bottles each of six distinct Crus, demonstrating exactly how the complex geology of the region shapes what is in the glass. Brimming with charm, style, and effortless light-footedness, this collection is the perfect standard for serious Gamay and provides an ideal transition into summer dining.
Inside the Mixed Case:
- 2022 MOULIN A VENT Empreinte, Domaine Paul Janin et Fils: Sourced from pure granitic soils, this wine represents a masterclass in precision. It marries exceptional elegance with fragrant notes of jammy dark raspberries, strawberries, and a lovely peppery lift.
- 2023 FLEURIE Cuvée Tardive, Clos de La Roilette: Grown on an unusual mix of manganese and clay, then aged in century-old oak casks. It delivers a deeply structured, velvety richness and texture with fine, ripe tannins and sweet kirsch liqueur on the finish.
- 2024 MORGON Côte de Py, Domaine Rochette: Sourced from the heart of the AOC on classic blue rock soils. A powerful and rich edition with intense aromas of cherries and blackberries, offering brilliant ageing potential.
- 2024 CÔTE DE BROUILLY Les Grillés, Domaine Chevalier-Métrat: Beautifully fragrant and lifted, featuring vibrant notes of red currants, raspberries, and blueberries. Richly fruited with great freshness and flesh delivered in a lip-smacking style.
- 2023 RÉGNIÉ Cuvée des Braves, Domaine Rochette: Crafted from venerable vines up to 80 years old. Everything feels entirely measured and assured in this juicy, supple, and gently persistent wine, making it quite possibly the domaines finest release.
- 2024 BROUILLY Les Mines, Domaine Chevalier-Métrat: Tended from ancient bush vines on sunny southern slopes, this wine features a pretty nose of violets, cherry, and raspberry. The palate has good richness and lovely flesh, mixing perky cherries with smashed fresh strawberries.

NSPCC Fine Wine Challenge | 2026
The 30th Anniversary NSPCC Fine Wine Challenge Collection.
Last month, we gathered in London for the 30th Anniversary of the NSPCC Fine Wine Challenge. It was a spectacular evening where the Lea & Sandeman team poured over 2,500 glasses of wine to blind-taste for a room full of eager, competitive palates.
It was a brilliant success, raising over £250,000 for Childline.
To celebrate this milestone, we have assembled a 6-bottle case containing half a dozen of the exceptional wines poured during the quiz, allowing you to recreate the challenge from the comfort of your own dining table.
A portion of the proceeds from every case sold will be donated directly to the NSPCC. These are not simple, entry-level wines designed to be easily guessed. We selected complex, profound expressions from some of our most revered estates to truly test the room.
What is Inside the Anniversary Collection:
2023 SANCERRE Silex Chavignol, Domaine Delaporte: An unusually sumptuous, flint-rich Sancerre with flavours of lemon, honey tea, and chamomile.
2023 ALBERELLI DI GIODO Carricante: The legendary Carlo Ferrini's Sicilian masterpiece. Grown at high altitude on Mount Etna, it crackles with white peach and delicate, salty mineral shadings.
2022 SAINT VÉRAN Les Pommards, Domaine Barraud: A beautifully powerful white Burgundy from 60-year-old vines, displaying excellent volume and a classic, mineral core.
2020 POMMARD Tavannes, Domaine Fernand & Laurent Pillot: A rich, plush, and fleshy Pinot Noir from an entirely massal-selected old-vine plot. Exceptionally concentrated and powerful.
2020 GIGONDAS Clos Derrière Vieille, Domaine Santa Duc: A stunningly elegant, biodynamic southern Rhône blend, aged in oak foudres and clay amphorae. Expect thyme, rosemary, and vivid mountain freshness.
2023 FLEURIE Cuvée Tardive, Clos de La Roilette: Velvety richness, fine ripe tannins, and a core of sweet kirsch liqueur. All you could ever need from Gamay, from an estate that charmingly still uses its 1920s racehorse label.
