The Cuvée les Trois Climats is a curio for 2024 - made up of 75% 1er Cru grapes, this will be labelled as a village wine because of the mix. Fruit from their parcels in Bas de Combe, Vigne Rondes and Chaignots (50%) are all blended this year - they were the family's worst hit sites and so they just could not make any single wines from any of these individual climats. This jumps out of the glass with sheer class. Lovely perky aromatics. The palate is a tad more broad with charming depth. A sophisticated feel to the darker, blue toned fruit. There is a scratch of blueberry skin rub, super fine tannins - but this is seamless and sleek really with great energy. Super spice and kick too - but open and easy to read. Very charming a pleasure to taste. The fruit here is a shade darker and more brambling - but very fine indeed. Drinking range: 2029 - 2036 L&S (Nov 2025)

The 1ers Crus Chaignots and Vignes Rondes have had to be blended with the village Bas de Combe. Attractive mid ruby. The Nuits-St-Georges fruit is only fractionally deeper in colour and darker in fruit, clearly a Vosne-side Nuits as is indeed the case for all three plots, mainly a red raspberry style of fruit. Just enough acidity, and fair weight. Drinking range: 2029 - 2034 Rating: 90-92 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy (Jan 2026)
The 2024 Nuits Saint-Georges Cuvée Les Trois Climats has a pretty nose with cranberry and raspberry fruit, subtle violet scents tucked in behind, enhanced by the focus and delineation. The palate is well balanced with fine-grain tannins. I admire the vigour and pepperiness in this cuvée as if there were a few stems in the mix. Touches of clove and allspice furnish that finish of a very competent Nuits Saint-Georges, hopefully a one-off cuvée. Drinking range: 2027 - 2039 Rating: 90-92 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Jan 2026)
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg
Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg was founded in 1933 on the marriage of Jeanne Gibourg and André Mugneret. Holdings then consisted of Bourgogne, village Nuits, village Vosne and Echezeaux. Their son Georges, an opthalmologist by day, added to the vineyards, but his acquisitions (Nuits 1ers Crus Vignes Rondes and Chaignots, Chambolle 1er Cru Feusselottes, and Grands Crus Clos Vougeot and Ruchottes Chambertin) were kept separate as Domaine Georges Mugneret.
On Georges' death in 1988, his widow Jacqueline and daughter Marie-Christine took over. Marie-Andrée, the younger daughter joined them a little later having completed her studies as an oenologist. In 2009 Jacqueline retired and the two domaine names were put together to become Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg, ending the prior confusion of labels.
The sisters have proved more than safe hands as far as the winemaking is concerned, and these are top-flight Burgundies with that elusive balance of enough concentration allied with delicacy of expression and the capability to age well. All the vineyard management has been brought in-house (the domaine previously relied on two métayeurs for part of the vineyard) and the quality has reached new heights, its wines some of the most sought-after in the Côte de Nuits. In 2017 Marie-Christine 's daughter Lucie joined the domaine, and Marion and Fanny, daughters of Marie-Andrée are now also part of the team.- For full delivery details see our Delivery page.
