Tasted after the Ladoix Blanc. Much more expressive on the nose. White flowers, ripe orchard fruits and a touch of sweet spice from the oak. Good concentration and grip on the palate. Very well balanced with some salinity on the finish. Very good effort. Drinking range: 2026 - 2035 Rating: 92 L&S (Jan 2026)

The 2024 Puligny-Montrachet Champ-Gain 1er Cru comes from a little over a hectare of vines. This has a perfumed nose with pressed white flower scents infusing the red apple and orange blossom aromas. Fine delineation. The palate is well balanced with a cohesive entry. Just a touch of creamy oak with decent weight on the finish. Give this a year in bottle - it's a very pretty Puligny. Domaine Faiveley
The Faiveley family are the largest vineyard owners in Burgundy, owning around 120ha, spread across the Côte de Nuits, Beaune and Chalonnaise and encompassing everything from generic Bourgogne up to the grandest of Grand Crus. Their holdings supply the grapes for 5 out of every 6 bottles made by Faiveley, the balance being bought in from carefully selected contract growers.
