An unhelpful catch-all term for the disconnected patchwork of wine areas extending south from Bordeaux toward the Mediterranean. Many of these wines were little heard of until recent times being over-shadowed by grander neighbours, especially Bordeaux through which, historically, they would have had to ship their wines.

Another superb effort from Durou, filled with blue fruit and juicy plums. Blueberries, damson, myrtle and prunes. Supple, engaging and never heavy, it has a bold feel with an aromatic lift to the finish.
