District Côte d'Or
Sub-district Côte de Nuits
Village Gevrey Chambertin

Cask sample. Very light in colour. Subtle red fruits, light but scented. There’s more finesse than substance here but that’s not a bad thing, and the length is surprising. Drinking range: 2021 - 2027 Rating: 16 Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Jan 2019)

Notes of forest floor and underbrush add breadth to the aromas of red currant, violet and a whiff of oak. The sleek and relatively refined medium-bodied flavors exude a subtle minerality on the delicious, punchy and balanced finish. This excellent effort is presently slightly strict and will need a few years to unwind and better flesh out. 2025+ Rating: 89-91 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2019)

The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes comes from about nine hectares around the appellation, although usually around one-third is sold off. It has an attractive bouquet of raspberry, cranberry and wet limestone aromas. The palate is a little chewy on the entry, but there is good acidity and plenty of crunchy red berry fruit. The correct, short but focused finish is quite Morey-like in style. Drink over the next eight to 10 years. Drinking range: 2020 - 2030 Rating: 89-91 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Jan 2019)

Sweet fruit nose... ripe summer fruits. Very supple and elegant onto the palate. It is light and fruit-driven with lightly powdery tannins. Ripe, but not rich and showing some finesses. The finish is aromatic. Much more sophisticated than the Nuits. Rating: 16.15 Sarah Marsh MW, The Burgundy Briefing (Dec 2018)
