Tasted after the Echezeaux - this certainly is a broader beast. Loaded with sweeter fruit, a swirl of red berries and spice kept lifted enough by a vein of lovely, tingling acidity. For now there is a tightish middle but well crafted with pure and richly scented fruit. Drinking range: 2019 - 2027 L&S (Nov 2018)

The palest of the Faiveley family's mouthwatering array of grand cru reds, this is almost indecently scented, sensuous and appealing. Red cherry and raspberry fruit flavours combine playfully on the palate, framed by understated oak and crunchy acidity. Drinking range: 2025 - 2030 Rating: 96 Tim Atkin MW - Decanter (Jan 2019)

Cask sample. Light to mid crimson. Ripe, tangy, dark-red fruit. Really sweet on the palate – both fruit and oak sweetness. So much so that is seems to lack some freshness. The Faiveley family are the largest vineyard owners in Burgundy, owning around 120ha, spread across the Côtes de Nuits, Beaune and Chalonnaise and encompassing everything from generic Bourgogne up to the grandest of Grand Crus. Their holdings supply the grapes for 5 out of every 6 bottles made by Faiveley, the balance being bought in from carefully selected contract growers.
